How far back can I claim?
You may be able to claim for a delayed flight in the last six years. The court time limit is generally six years from the incident in England and Wales, and five years in Scotland. Other jurisdictions and complaint schemes may have different deadlines. The flight must still meet the eligibility rules. Contact the airline promptly: a complaint or a Sort It enquiry does not normally stop the court deadline running. If the deadline is close, seek prompt advice from a solicitor; our service does not conduct court proceedings.
How much does a flight claim cost?
The proposed success fee is 35% of eligible compensation actually received, including any applicable VAT. No compensation recovered means no service fee. For example, on £350 compensation, our fee is £122.50 and you keep £227.50. The free eligibility enquiry does not appoint Sort It or create a payment obligation.
Can I claim from the airline myself?
Yes. You can submit a compensation claim directly to your airline for free. Our optional paid service is for customers who want help. We follow the airline’s submission and verification procedures. An authorised representative can often submit the initial claim in your name. You may still need to verify details or forward airline replies.
Does every delay qualify?
No. Coverage, arrival delay, distance and the cause of disruption matter. Extraordinary circumstances can exclude compensation. The £520 maximum is not a typical or guaranteed payout. Some eligible long-haul delays attract £260. We assess each enquiry individually.
Can I appoint Sort It today?
Not yet. This pre-launch website accepts free assessment enquiries while the success-fee agreement, cancellation process and payment collection are finalised. No paid claim-handling appointment or card payment is available here.
What do the other fixed-price packages include?
Letter packages include agreed information review, a tailored draft, submission instructions and one revision requested within 14 days. Package revisions are stated in your quote. Corrections to our errors are free and do not count towards revision limits. Prices include any applicable VAT.
Can I do this myself for free?
Often, yes. You can usually complain, make a claim or complete forms directly. Deposit schemes offer free dispute resolution. Our fee pays for preparation and organisation—not access to those routes or a guaranteed result.
Are you a solicitors’ firm?
No. Sort It’s proposed service is independent letter and document preparation for suitable matters in England and Wales. It does not include conducting litigation or court representation. Customer submission does not make every task suitable; each matter is screened.
Which specialist services are coming soon?
Family documents, financial disclosure, consent orders, D81 and court-related preparation require a defined process and competent specialist review before launch. They are shown for planning and enquiries only, with no purchase option. Complex pensions, businesses, trusts, overseas assets, property arrangements and disputed settlements are excluded from the proposed consent-order package.
Can you guarantee a refund or successful outcome?
No. Decisions depend on the evidence, applicable rules and the recipient or court. Court fees and separately required professional services are additional and disclosed before purchase. No percentage of compensation is deducted under the proposed fixed-fee packages.
What happens to assessment information?
When you submit, your name, email and answers are sent to Sort It Flights’ HubSpot account so we can assess your enquiry and reply. No marketing subscription is requested. Please provide only a brief summary: do not include children’s details, health information, identity documents, account numbers or confidential case documents. For questions or deletion requests, contact c_m_dutton@hotmail.com. This is a pre-launch website; the full privacy notice and retention arrangements must be finalised before paid claim handling launches.
What information do I need for a flight delay assessment?
Tell us the operating airline, flight number, travel date, departure and arrival airports, and how late you arrived at your final destination. Keep your booking confirmation and any airline explanation. Please do not upload identity documents or bank details with your initial enquiry.
